Philosophy

The basic needs of human beings are food, clothing, and shelter. Of those three, clothing in particular is unique to humans. It is said that our ancestors invented clothing from time immemorial, by sewing animal skins together with needles made from animal bones. Since then, clothing has seen a number of innovations as we have evolved technologically and culturally as a species. For example, Japanese kimonos are made of rectangular patterns that fit any body shape or size, while the culture of couture fashion results in one-of-a-kind garments created via interaction between a designer and a wearer. By contrast, jeans are perhaps the only garments that have transcended nearly all physical and social borders around the world.
We believe that the next step for fashion is to create and deliver garments that truly embrace the beauty, depth, and individuality of each person who wears them, while also remaining mindful of our impact on and interactions with the environment.
If we create better clothes, the world will be a better place.
That is why garment making needs to continue evolving.
Moving forward, I hope to create future-facing garments the like of which the world has never seen.
